The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is investigating after a 28-year-old man was killed on a construction site in Augusta.
Adan Binzha, 28, of Augusta, died Friday at Doctors Hospital, according to a news release from the coroner’s office.
Binzha was struck by an excavator bucket while working Friday at a construction site on the 2400 block of Gordon Highway, according to the release.
An autopsy is scheduled, according to the coroner’s office. OSHA was notified and is investigating.
Family members took to social media to share the news and raise funds via a GoFundMe campaign to return Binzha’s body to Mexico.
Binzha leaves behind his wife, a young son, parents and siblings in Mexico, according to the GoFundMe.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the campaign raised $4,256 of the $25,000 goal.
