Labor Day weekend is almost here and in Myrtle Beach that means crowds will flock to the beach to enjoy the summer holiday. If you’re planning for a long weekend outdoors, here’s what to expect from the weather.
As is typical for South Carolina in August, the weekend will be hot and humid, with temperatures set to reach close to 90 degrees.
Based on predictions from the National Weather Service (NWS), Friday will likely be mostly sunny with a slight chance of rain after 2 p.m. Forecasts suggest it’ll be a warm day, with a high around 87 degrees and a low around 74 that night.
Saturday and Sunday will likely have similar weather. According to the NWS forecast, both days will be mostly sunny with highs around 87 degrees and lows around 75 at night.
On Monday Myrtle Beach could get showers and thunderstorms. There’s a 50% chance of precipitation, according to the NWS. The Weather Channel and Weather Underground predict the area will get scattered thunderstorms in the morning that will become more widespread in the afternoon.
Besides rain, the weather will likely be partly sunny with a high of 86 degrees. Temperatures are predicted to cool a bit Monday night, with a low around 71 degrees.
