Dana closing Lima plant after nearly 55 years of business – MASHAHER

Aug. 29—LIMA — Dana Corporation is set to close its Lima plant, located at 777 Bible Road, by the end of 2025.

The facility currently employs around 280 people, making it one of the largest employers in Allen County.

Craig Barber, a spokesman for the company, said the move is part of Dana’s strategy to enhance efficiency and to adapt to changes in the customer landscape.

“We move operations quite a bit as really an efficiency and a change in customer landscape and such. It’s part of our strategy to optimize and be more efficient,” Barber said.

Dana supplies traditional and electrified systems for medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. It has been in operation in Lima since 1970.

Allen Economic Development Group President Cindy Leis said her organization would assist Dana throughout this process and was optimistic for the future of the employees forced to find a new path.

“We’ll support the plant as best we can. We will work with the local Ohio Means Jobs office, and I would expect we will place them in other places in Lima Allen/County,” Leis said.
