Hillsborough County deputy dies by suicide, sheriff’s office says – MASHAHER

A Hillsborough County deputy died by suicide Thursday evening, according to the sheriff’s office.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m., a family member found Deputy Timothy White, 45, dead in a vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the Tampa Fire Rescue Headquarters, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

White worked at the sheriff’s office for 15 years and most recently served at the Hillsborough County Courthouse, the news release states.

“I am devastated to learn that one of our own was suffering in silence,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in the news release. “The entire Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office grieves with Deputy White’s loved ones. To anyone in crisis, please know you are not alone; help is available.”
