Collingwood’s Tarni White is set for a nervous wait after her brutal bump rocked the AFLW opener at North Sydney Oval on Friday night.

White had been knocked down midway through the third term in the loss to Sydney but waved away medical staff before taking off after Swan Maddy Collier.

And when Collier got her kick away, White made contact in a hit Fox Footy’s Daniel Harford believes will land the Pie in hot water.

Swan Collier failed to return to the field after the massive hit.

“Choose to bump – head to head and Maddy Collier doesn’t come back on with a HIA,” he said.

“That’s going to be a problem for her.

“I think she’s in a bit of trouble Tarni.”

AFLW great Erin Phillips agreed White looked to be in trouble for the bump.

“Massive hit – no doubt that will be looked at,” she said in commentary.

Just seconds after White laid her bump, her teammate Muireann Atkinson knocked herself out in a nasty looking collision with Swans star Chloe Molloy – as spot fires broke out around the ground.

“Another big hit and now we’ve got two spot fires going at once,” commentator Jason Bennett said.

“We’ll need a split screen. They go from one fight to another and it’s on inside 50.

“Two really solid hits in the space of 30 seconds.”

But unlike White’s hit, commentators agreed Atkinson was just “clumsy” in the contact that saw the Irish debutant take no further part in the match.

“She just runs into Chloe Molloy. It’s just clumsy more than anything else,” Harford said.

“Nothing malicious in that one I don’t think.

“Just looked clumsy to me from Atkinson in her first game in the comp.

“They just clashed heads.”

Molloy was able to remain out on the field and play a match-winning role for her side.

Speaking after her side’s 15-point victory, Molloy said she didn’t think there was much in the Atkinson contact.

“It’s all love and war,” she said.

“It’s a compliment when a player gives you that sort of attention.

“She’s going to be a hard defender … I just hope, we both hit hard so I hope she’s alright as well.”
