KLUANG: A man was killed while six others were injured in an accident involving a car, four motorcycles and a cow here.
Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the accident at KM24 of Jalan Renggam-Simpang Renggam was believed to have happened when the car crashed into a cow.
“The cow was crossing the road when it was killed after being hit by a car.
“The collision between the two led the car to skid to the opposite lane and collided with one of the motorcycles.
“Meanwhile, the three other motorcycles got into the accident as they bumped into the carcass of the cow that was lying in the middle of the road,” he said in a statement here on Saturday (Aug 31).
He said the accident at about 6am on Saturday led to the death of a 24-year-old car mechanic and caused the injury of six others, including two secondary school students.
“The motorcyclist that was hit by the car suffered serious injuries on the head and body and died at the scene.
“Six others, who are between 15 and 34 years old, were injured and have been sent to Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Kluang,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
