LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two people were hospitalized after a fire at a northwest Las Vegas valley apartment complex Sunday afternoon, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.
On Sunday around 3:10 p.m., LVFR responded to a structure fire at the Bella Solara Apartments in the 7100 block of Smoke Ranch Road near Tenya Way.
Fire crews arrived at the scene around 3:15 p.m. and at 3:23 p.m. the fire was upgraded to a two-alarm fire. LVFR said the knockdown was called at 3:27 p.m. and crews were actively fighting the fire for 50 minutes to ensure hot spots were found and to avoid the fire spreading to the remainder of the building.
Two people were taken to a local hospital, one for smoke inhalation and the other for exposure while outdoors, LVFR said. One dog was also rescued and taken to a shelter to be assessed and reclaimed.
At this time, four apartments have been impacted by the fire which may cause the residents to be displaced. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and it is under investigation.
