Dozens of gunshots were fired at Global Vision Bible Church Pastor Greg Locke’s home, garage and vehicle late Tuesday, according to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.
There were no injuries, according to Wilson County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Scott Moore. The shooting is being investigated, but no arrests were reported in connection with the case as of Wednesday.
Deputies responded to the pastor’s home around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, and found 30-40 shell casings around the house, garage and vehicle, Moore said.
Locke posted on social media that security footage shows a person “unloaded an entire magazine of bullets from an automatic weapon into our house, garage and my truck.”
Locke said “we” pulled into the driveway one minute after the shooting occurred, and one person was at the home on Chandler Road near the church on Old Lebanon Dirt Road at the time of the shooting.
One bullet cut through the headboard of the pastor’s youngest daughter’s bed and lodged in her pillow, Locke posted on social media.
Locke said he and his family spent the night at a hotel.
The pastor has gained a large social media following for his conservative political stances and the launch of a mass-deliverance ministry that involves casting out evil spirits. The church has also been known for events such as inviting people to burn items the church relates to witchcraft and the occult.
Global Vision Bible Church has been the target of previous vandalism attempts.
In March, police and emergency crews responded to a early Sunday morning trailer fire that saw hundreds of Bibles burned at the intersection of Chandler and Old Lebanon Dirt Roads, according to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.
Locke recently announced that Global Vision entered a contract to purchase the Love’s Way Church property at 310 Coles Ferry Pike in Lebanon with the intent to move.
