‘Will follow deal by full stop & comma’: Amit Shah as NLFT, ATTF sign Tripura peace deal | India News – MASHAHER



NEW DELHI: Home minister Amit Shah assured militant organistaions National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) to follow the peace agreement signed with them by every word.
The peace deal was signed between the Centre and government of Tripura with NLFT and ATTF on Wednesday.
“We will follow deal by full stop & comma,” Amit Shah said.
Addressing the people, Shah added, “This is a matter of joy for all of us that after the struggle that was ongoing for 35 years, you have given up weapons and joined the mainstream and expressed your commitment towards the development of entire Tripura.”
Shah said that over 328 insurgents are set to lay down their arms and reintegrate into mainstream society.
Additionally, Rs 250 crore has been approved for the development of areas impacted by the operations of the ATTF and NLFT, with a focus on regions predominantly inhabited by tribal communities.
“This agreement is the 12th for the northeast and 3rd related to Tripura. So far around 10,000 insurgents have surrendered, given up weapons and joined the mainstream…Today, with the surrender of and agreement with NLFT and ATTF, more than around 328 armed cadres will join the mainstream,” he said.
Amit Shah credited PM Narendra Modi for his vision and capability which has led to the development of northeastern states.
“Ever since PM Modi became the Prim Minister of the country, through peace and dialogues, he presented the vision of capable and developed northeast before the country. There was a great distance between the people of Northeast and Delhi. He not only removed this distance through road, rail and air connectivity but also removed the distance between hearts of people,” he said.
In a statement on Tuesday, the home ministry had informed that “MHA has been working tirelessly to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed north-east, free from extremism, violence and conflict.”
