MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A baby found in a bathtub of a Milford motel was fully submerged underwater when a maid went to clean the room, according to an arrest warrant unsealed on Thursday.
The baby was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
According to the arrest warrant, police were dispatched on Aug. 21 to the Mayflower Motel in Milford after a housekeeper found the baby inside the bathtub of one of its rooms. The warrant said that the baby’s clothing, bags and car seat were also left behind in the room.
Dale Anthony Kirkland, 31, was arrested for child endangerment and cruelty to persons. The baby’s name and cause of death have not yet been announced. The Department of Children and Families was involved with the family for weeks before the death. Additional charges against him are expected.
