Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree 2 is continuing to make waves in the cinemas. Following the blockbuster success, director Amar Kaushik sat down with Bollywood Hungama to discuss the movie, and delved deep into the strategic decisions behind the film, particularly regarding Shraddha Kapoor’s character. Kaushik expressed his profound admiration for the actress and her massive fan base.

In the interview, Amar Kaushik said, “Maine itni badi fan following aaj tak nahi dekhi. Main unn saare fans ko bolna chahunga ki aap jaise fans ho na to insaan kahan se kahan pahuch jaaye. Bahut hi pyaar karte hai Shraddha ko. Aur Shraddha bhi unke messages ke reply karti hai. Agar who kabhi set pe aa gaye toh unse baat karegi, ho sakta hai unke naam bhi Shraddha ko pata ho. Unse baat karegi, unko problems ko sunegi, kaafi genuine hai aur natak nahi karti. Ismein bhi woh bahut immandaar hai apne fans ke saath aur wahi pyaar woh usko dete hai (I’ve never seen such unwavering devotion. These fans are the reason why actors can achieve so much. Their love for Shraddha is truly inspiring. She’s not just an actress; she’s a real person who cares deeply about her audience. Her responses to fan messages are heartwarming and show her true colors).”
Talking about the limited screen time of Shraddha Kapoor, Kaushik added, “Main unko acchi film dena chahta hoon, unke fans ko. Saare kirdaar ko. Main aap sabko ek acchi film dena chahta hoon. Agar Shraddha pehle scene se hoti, toh uski joh entry hai jismein usko taaliyaan, seetiyaan bajayi hai, ek hero entry hai woh nahi milti aapko. Mera hamesha se tha ki meri picture mein Stree film mein heroine ki entry aisi honi chahiye kyunki heroine ki entry pe taaliyan nahi bajti hai. Mera yeh tha ki sab log hero ki entry pe taali maarte hai. Agar maine heroine ke entry pe taaliyan karwa di toh woh correct hoga (I wanted to create a moment that would truly astonish the audience. The delayed introduction of Shraddha’s character was a deliberate move. Typically, heroes get the grand entrances, but I wanted to challenge that notion and give our leading lady the spotlight she deserved. The applause, the cheers – it was the perfect payoff for her fans. It was a moment that celebrated not just her talent but also the incredible bond she shares with her audience).”
Stree 2 also stars Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi. Produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films, the film has garnered Rs. 520.73 crores.
