Recently, Soni praised their “sass and sharp wit,” proudly noting that they’re much sharper than people realize.

On Instagram stories, Soni shared a playful post suggesting that Alia and Shaheen are “sassier” versions of herself. The post humorously read, “Have a daughter so you can argue with an even sassier version of yourself before 9 am every day.” Soni tagged both daughters, adding, “You have no idea what this actually entails. Man, these daughters are smart and how!”
Soni Razdan isn’t the only one full of praise—her daughters often express their love for her too. A few weeks ago, Soni shared some nostalgic throwback photos on social media. One picture showed her in a vintage saree, while another had her in a glamorous black sparkly jacket over a simple dress. Reflecting on time, Soni wrote, “Ah, youth! How fleeting it seems when you’re grown up. And when you’re young, it feels like it will last forever. Make the most of it!” Among the many compliments she received, Alia Bhatt chimed in, calling her mother “So So Beautiful.”
Earlier this year, Soni reflected on the challenges she faced raising her daughters. In an interview with The Nod Mag, she said, “I remember Shaheen was just three weeks old when he went off to a shoot, and I was left literally holding a baby, who refused to sleep at night. Back then, we lived in a small one-bedroom flat. We didn’t have a lot of money, we were young, and we were struggling to make it. But the children were brought up with a lot of love. We didn’t have smartphones—heck, Alia didn’t even have a playroom. But then, life was simpler.”
On the professional front, Soni is set to appear in Prerna V Arora’s Hero Heeroine, which began filming on June 10 in Hyderabad. The film also stars Divya Khosla Kumar, while her daughter Alia Bhatt will be seen in Jigra next.
