Apple’s event, scheduled on September 9, is expected to unveil a lot. Along with the iPhone 16 series, the company will also reveal the new Apple Watch Series 10 and AirPods 4 in its full glory. But wait for the main player– Apple Intelligence. Apple is yet to debut in the AI world and we expect the fall event is the chosen one. During the event, called “It’s Glowtime”, the company is set to release all features of the Apple Intelligence. The inbuilt Apple AI is expected to feature in the higher-end models of the series. This means that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will be integrated with Apple Intelligence. While the company has not revealed much, here are 10 cool features that are expected to come with Apple Intelligence.

Revamped Siri: With Apple Intelligence, the tech giant is looking forward to making its personal assistant, Siri, even better. Giving a hint during WWDC 2024 in June, Apple stated, “this year marks the start of a new era for Siri.” With AI powers, Siri will become more natural, relevant and personal. It will also receive some new glow-up. Right now, Siri glows only in one place, but with the new powers, Siri will lit-up all the edges.
What can the new Siri do? Itâ can maintain context between requests so you can ask a question and then reference it in a second reply. If you stumble over your words when speaking to âSiriâ, or shift what you’re saying mid-sentence, âSiriâ can follow along.
Writing tools: Of course, there has to be a writing tool with Apple Intelligence. It will proofread texts for spelling and grammar errors, including word choice and sentence structure. It will also rewrite to clean up what you’ve written and shift the tone without impacting your content. Options include Friendly, Professional, and Concise.
Photos app will also get a boost: You can create a Memory Movie with just a description, such as “My cat in 2024,” or “Orlando in the summer.” The feature automatically picks relevant photos and chooses songs, but you can tweak through the Memory Mixes feature or choose a mood to guide the direction of the audio. You can also add in specific scenes and images you want to see throughout the memory when you’re creating the prompt.
Clean up tool: A new Clean up tool will allow you to choose unwanted elements in an image and use AI to remove them without affecting the main subject. The Android users must be aware of a similar tool, called Magic Eraser. Yes, it is exactly the same in the Apple verse.
AI powered Mail: In the Mail app, you can leverage Apple Intelligence to receive summaries of your inbox messages. Additionally, you’ll be able to explore the new smart reply feature, which offers AI-generated suggestions and recommendations for crafting the best responses to your colleagues, friends, family, and others.
Image Playground and Image Wand: Apple Intelligence will introduce several image-creation tools, such as Image Playground, which lets you generate images from text prompts and suggestions. You can then use these created images throughout the platform, including in Messages.
Transcribing calls: Apple Intelligence will introduce a range of audio features to the Notes and Phone apps, including the ability to record audio directly in the Phone app for the first time. Additionally, it will provide instant transcription and summarisation of recordings.
Genmoji: It is no secret that with every software update, Apple adds new emojis to its keyboard. But this time, it is moving up a notch. With Apple Intelligence, you will have the power to create emojis, just as you like. The Genmoji will be used in apps like Messages to make your conversation even more fun. It is noteworthy that inappropriate prompts will be automatically discarded by the Apple Intelligence.
ChatGPT app not required anymore: The iPhone 16 Pro models will not require the ChatGPT app. The revamped Siri will come with the ChatGPT integration. It will get the power of GPT 4o and capabilities like screen sharing with your assistant for more context.
ChatGPT assistance will be available for free and won’t require an OpenAI account. Nevertheless, it will offer the option to sync with your Premium ChatGPT account to access additional paid features.
Priority notification: Apple Intelligence will be able to analyse your iPhone notifications and prioritise the most important ones, which will appear at the top in a new Priority Notifications section. Longer notifications or groups of multiple notifications will be summarised as well. This feature will also integrate with Focus Modes, minimising interruptions by ensuring that only crucial and relevant notifications are delivered.
When will Apple Intelligence come?
Apple Intelligence is expected to come to the iPhone 16 Pro models a little later. The features will be available on devices powered by A17 Pro chip and above. This means, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are the only devices currently available that will experience the powers of Apple Intelligence. But it is speculated that it will come a little late to the party. It is rumoured to come in iOS 18.1 update with a handful of features, and others discussed during WWDC will stretch even to 2025. The delay also indicates that the first batch of iPhone 16 series, which were speculated to carry the AI features, will have to be updated a few weeks later.
