Waukesha police have identified the body of a man who was found Thursday in the Fox River, but information about the cause of his death has not been officially determined.

Scott W. Yehle, 63, was found by authorities at about 9:38 a.m. in Frame Park near the Riverwalk trail just south of Moreland Boulevard, based on information provided by police in a news release, which was updated Friday. The body had been discovered in the water by City of Waukesha Forestry staff who happened to be working in the area at the time.

The Waukesha Fire Department, which responded to the scene along with Waukesha police, was able to recover the body. According to initial reports, clothing was found in the area near the body along the shore, police said.

Yehle was wearing shorts when he was found and there were no signs of trauma to the body. Police could not confirm whether he had drowned.

On Friday, police added that the Waukesha County Medical Examiner’s Office was expected to complete an autopsy during the day. However, a report on those results was not expected to be finalized until later. Waukesha Police Capt. Dan Baumann told media outlets they would likely be provided more information next week.

The death investigation is continuing.
