Two Young Kraken Players Will Be Wearing Different Numbers During The 2024-25 Season – MASHAHER


Seattle Kraken youngsters Ryker Evans and Tye Kartye will be wearing new numbers during the 2024-25 season.

Evans, the 22-year-old defenseman will be going back to his familiar 41 after giving it to veteran Pierre-Edouard Bellemare last year. Evans has worn 41 throughout his career in the WHL and the AHL with the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

While wearing number 39 last season, Evans scored one goal and nine points. Wearing 41 with the Firebirds saw Evans score two goals and 15 points in 25 games. He was also stellar in the playoffs notching four goals and 10 points in 18 games.

Evans is expected to become a full-time NHL player this season and will be doing so with his trusted number 41.

Kartye will be making the switch from 52 to 12 after playing his first full season in the NHL. He recorded 11 goals and 20 points in 77 games during the 2023-24 campaign. Serving as a bottom-six forward, the 23-year-old provided speed and aggressiveness on the forecheck.

This upcoming season, Kartye will look to take another step in his development. That step will be to provide more offence on a consistent level. He’ll likely start the season on the fourth line alongside Brandon Tanev and Yanni Gourde but his play will determine if he moves up onto a line with any of Matty Beniers, Shane Wright or Chandler Stephenson.

The two young Krakens will play critical roles in the team’s success this season and are hoping number changes can add a spark to their careers and help the Kraken make the playoffs.
