For the second straight year, Brisbane hosts Carlton at the Gabba with both sides’ seasons on the line, this time in an elimination final.

The Lions (5th, 14-8-1, 121.9%) recovered from an 0-3 start to dominate the AFL after the bye, winning nine straight games before a couple of late stumbles, still earning a home final. They beat the Blues at this venue in last year’s preliminary final.

But the Blues (8th, 13-10, 110.2%) are hoping to repeat their stunning Opening Round upset, where they came back from 46 points down to beat last year’s Grand Finalists. They have six players back from injury this week after backing into the finals despite a Round 24 loss.
