Shraddha Kapoor praises Alia Bhatt’s Jigra teaser trailer, calling her ‘incredible’
Alia Bhatt shared the teaser on social media, and actress Shraddha Kapoor also expressed her enthusiasm. On Instagram stories, Shraddha commented, “This one has to be seen in theaters with my brother! What an incredible girl @aliabhatt, what an amazing trailer.” Alia playfully replied, “Hahaha, thank you my blockbuster Stree.”
The Jigra teaser provides a glimpse into the emotional journey of Alia Bhatt’s character, a dedicated sister on a mission to rescue her brother, played by Vedang Raina, who is imprisoned abroad. The film promises a compelling mix of emotional intensity, action, and drama, all revolving around themes of bravery and sibling devotion.
Directed by Vasan Bala and co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions, with a script by Debashish Irengbam and Bala, Jigra is slated for release on October 11, 2024.
Last year, Alia Bhatt discussed the film and described it as a story of ‘courage, passion, and determination’. “Just a little over a year later, we are ready to launch our second production Jigra, a beautiful story of courage, passion and determination. I hope to consistently support compelling narratives that are authentic, and enduringly timeless and work with brilliant creative minds to bring them alive,” Alia added.
It was recently disclosed that the actress had to learn basketball for her role in the film. According to E-Times, Alia Bhatt will appear in several basketball scenes in Jigra, and to ensure authenticity, director Vasan Bala assigned a coach to her.
Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor continues to bask in the success of her horror-comedy Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik. The film, which also features Rajkummar Rao, has been a major hit, surpassing ₹516 crore at the Indian box office. The cast includes Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee in significant roles.
