The Belurasian player was over the moon after finally achieving her third hardcourt triumph as she missed out in the previous edition of the tournament losing to Coco Gauff in the final. Following her victory, Sabalenka was left speechless as she finally achieved her dream after missing out in the previous edition.

“Oh my god. I’m speechless right now. So many times, I thought I was so close to winning this. It was a dream of mine. Finally I got this beautiful trophy.. it means a lot. It was a difficult couple of weeks. I know how tough it is to lose in the final Jessica. You’re showing amazing tennis. I’m more than sure you’re gonna get one. Not one maybe more but let’s start with one,” she said after her win.

Sabalenka became first woman since 2016 to win both hardcourt tournaments in single season

Further speaking ahead, she opened up on her emotional celebration after the victory as she laid on her back with her palms covering her face and wiping her tears away.

“I remember all those tough losses in the past year.. it’s gonna sound easy but never give up on your dream. Keep dreaming and keep working hard. If you’re really working hard and you sacrifice everything for your dream, you’re gonna get it one day. I’m super proud of myself. I never say that. But really guys I’m Super proud. I’m proud of my team that no matter what, no matter what situation we’re facing this season and in the past, we were able to go through it and get all those beautiful trophies,” she added.

Earlier, this year the 26-year-old successfully defended her Australian Open crown beating China’s Qinwen Zheng, 6-3 6-2, in straight sets. As a result, Sabalenka became the first woman to win both hardcourt majors in a single season since Germany’s Angelique Kerber who achieved the feat in 2016.
