Aryan Khan is currently putting finishing touches to his directorial debut Stardom. While his future as a filmmaker is yet to be seen, there are reports that the young Khan is being launched as an actor by either Aditya Chopra or Karan Johar.
“Aryan Khan wants to make films, not act in them,” reveals a family friend
Sections of the entertainment media have suddenly woken up with a new brainwave: an acting career for Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.
A close family friend dismisses the new wave of speculation as “delayed euphoria”.
“Aaryan is not being launched by Karan Johar or Aditya Chopra. He doesn’t want to act. He has never been interested in facing the camera. At the age of 21, he told his parents he wants to make films, not act in them. Shah Rukh was more than okay with Aryan’s career choice. It spared his son the constant comparison with his father,” says the family friend.
As for Karan and Aditya wanting to launch the boy, the friend can’t stop laughing. “Please! They are not gladiators. If Aryan wanted a film career, Karan or Adi or anyone would have been happy to do the needful. Ever since Aryan was a child, Karan Johar would tell Aryan he would be playing Shah Rukh’s son in the sequel to K3G. But Aryan had made up his mind. Thankfully, he is not an actor. Look at the sons of Bollywood superstars: Manoj Kumar’s Kunal Goswami, Dev Anand’s Suneil Anand, Rajendra Kumar’s Kumar Gaurav and Shatrughan Sinha’s Luv Sinha,” said the friend.
