Google One has officially started rolling out a Lite plan for a jump in storage, and with even a smaller cost. A Google One subscription mainly provides additional storage space that can be shared across various Google services, such as Gmail, Google Photos, and Google Drive. While all users receive 15GB of free storage, Google One offers upgraded storage options of 100GB, 200GB, and 2TB, giving users more space to store their files and data.
And now, the company has launched the Google One Lite Plan in India, providing users with 30GB of cloud storage at a minimal cost. Here are the details on pricing and other key features of this new plan, which offers an affordable storage solution for Indian users.
Google One Lite
The Google One Lite plan increases the standard 15GB of free storage to 30GB, but with some limitations. Unlike other Google One plans, the Lite tier does not permit storage sharing with up to five additional users, and it also omits extra features available in higher-tier plans, making it a more basic storage upgrade option.
The Google One Lite plan does not include AI features as well, which are exclusive to the AI Premium plan. This premium plan offers 2TB of cloud storage, advanced AI capabilities through Gemini, integration with various Google apps, and the Magic Editor in Google Photos, all for a monthly price of Rs 1,950.
It looks like the plan is rolling out in a phased manner, as it is appearing for only a few users. Similar to most Google One plans, Google also seems to be giving a one-month free trial for those interested. We will have to wait for Google to confirm when it is planning to roll out the plan widely.
Google One Lite: Prices
Google One Lite plan is priced at Rs 59 per month, offering 30GB of storage at a significantly lower cost compared to the 100GB plan, which is available for Rs 118 per month, essentially making the Lite plan half the price of the next tier. The Google One Lite plan offers a 1-month free trial, similar to other plans.
The annual subscription can be purchased for Rs 589 a year. Some users have also spotted getting special deals for the first month of subscription, as per the media reports. The discount offer cn reduce the price to as low as Rs 15 a month for two months.
