Maintenance worker at Farmington assisted living facility accused of trying to sexually assault resident’s dog – MASHAHER

FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A man who worked as a maintenance worker at a senior living facility in Farmington has been accused of entering a tenant’s apartment and then trying to sexually assault their dog.

Jose Ramos-Cordero, 65, of New Britain, has been charged with third-degree burglary, disorderly conduct and sexual assault of an animal-sexual contact. He has been assigned a $10,000 bond.

On Monday, police saw video of Ramos-Cordero going inside a tenant’s apartment when they weren’t home. The video then showed him exposing himself on the floor and trying “to engage with the tenant’s dog in a sexual manner,” according to police.

In a statement to News 8, Brookdale Senior Living wrote Ramos-Cordero is no longer an employee, that the facility immediate contacted police when it heard about the allegations and that the business does “not tolerate conduct of this nature.”

“Our company has strict standards in place for employees, including background checks and complying with state rules and regulations,” the statement reads. “The health and safety of our residents is our top priority. We are working closely with local authorities. We are deeply appreciative of their support.”
