Abhay Verma and Sharvari Wagh’s horror-comedy Munjya has enjoyed considerable success. Following its OTT release last month, the film recently premiered on television. During the celebration of this milestone, Abhay Verma expressed his gratitude to the audience for their support and praised working with Sharvari, affectionately calling her his ‘Tani partner’ in reference to the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

In their recent celebration of Munjya‘s TV premiere, Abhay shared moments from the event on his Instagram stories. The first photo showed both of them posing together, with Abhay humbly saying, “Love you all for making Munjya’s premiere the biggest.” In the second photo, both actors were posed near a poster cutout, and Abhay openly praised Sharvari, writing, “Tani partner to my Suri pappe.” This was an allusion to the 2008 romantic comedy film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, in which Shah Rukh Khan portrayed both Surinder Sahni (Suri) and Raj Kapoor, and Anushka Sharma played Tani, also known as Tani’s partner in the film.
Meanwhile, Abhay Verma tweeted another snapshot of the complete team assembled to cut a cake. Along with the photo, Abhay said, “This definitely felt more like cutting my birthday cake.”
Munjya is a horror-comedy set in Pune and the Konkan region, featuring Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma, and Mona Singh in key roles. The film centers on the mythical Munjya, a creature that disrupts the life of Bittu, portrayed by Abhay. As Bittu seeks to solve the mystery of the spirit, he faces the challenge of protecting his love interest. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film is part of Maddock Films’ supernatural universe.
Following the success of Munjya, reports indicate that Abhay Verma has been cast in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King. This highly anticipated project is also expected to feature Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in prominent roles. Before Munjya, Abhay appeared in supporting roles in The Family Man, Ae Watan Mere Watan, and Safed.
