Contrarily to what has been the case in the last few year, this time Canadiens fans will be able to see the organization’s prospect take on another team as the Prospect Showdown will be held at the Bell Centre this weekend. There will be two afternoon games at 1:00 PM Saturday and Sunday featuring some of the team’s top prospects.
Owen Beck, fresh off a Memorial Cup win and a tournament MVP title will be amongst those taking part in this weekend games, just like Lane Hutson, Logan Mailloux, David Reinbacher and Florian Xhekaj to name a few.
On defense, the fans will also get to have a look at Adam Engstrom who was been plying his trade in Sweden since being drafted by the Canadiens in the third round of the 2022 draft. He comes to camp as one of the dark horses, but one definitely worth keeping an eye on. Last season in the SHL he featured in 51 games and racked up 22 points in the process.
