Rahul Bose, Ishwak Singh Aparshakti Khurana, and Anupriya Goenka are a part of an ensemble cast of the spy-thriller film Berlin, which is streaming on ZEE5. In an exclusive set of quotes, Rahul Bose revealed that a lot of things take place in the film in the name of Berlin. He also shared that all the events that are shown in the film, the intersections, everything is linked to the name Berlin.
EXCLUSIVE : Rahul Bose on his experience of working with Kabir Bedi in Berlin: “There was a lot of understanding and everything just flowed very smoothly”
When asked about the experience of working with Kabir Bedi, he said, “Kabir and I had a few scenes together, and it was as easy as working with any other actor in this film. There was a lot of understanding of the piece, and everything just flowed very smoothly.”
When asked how it felt to see Berlin receiving so many accolades and appreciation at film festivals around the world, Rahul said, “I’m very happy for the cast and crew of Berlin with the appreciation it’s getting, but I’m happiest for Atul Sabharwal, the director. He stubbornly and correctly stuck to his vision, both artistically and in narrative style. Whether it’s the color palette, the lensing of the movie in terms of cinematography, or the way the performances have been shaped—this film was truly made in the editing room. The idea of unease and ambiguity in the characters has come out beautifully in the editing. When I do a movie, I do it to realize the director’s dream. I’ll do anything for the director, and if the film turns out well, nothing makes me happier. So, I’m really happy for Atul.”
Throwing light about the hesitation to work in a movie that could be considered an anti-establishment film, he added, “If you look at my work, it’s not intentional, but much of it occupies spaces that are not mainstream or typical pro narratives that everybody is used to. That’s fine with me; my choices as an actor are based on the ambition and appetite I have for myself at that moment. So, I don’t really consider whether something is pro or anti-establishment.”
