The Kansas City Chiefs do not expect to have Marquise “Hollywood” Brown available during the regular season, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Brown is set to undergo surgery to repair a dislocated sternoclavicular joint in his shoulder and was placed on injured reserve. He is not expected back until mid-January.
On Friday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid indicated that Brown’s injury would be long-term.
“There are not a lot of these [injuries] that we have information on,” Reid said. “We have to ride it out and see where we’re at. It’s not going to be weeks, it’s going to be more like months.”
The 27-year-old wide receiver did not play during the Chiefs’ Week 1 win over the Baltimore Ravens and has been out since suffering the injury during the team’s first preseason game in August. Earlier this month, he was given a 4-6 week recovery timetable, but after further evaluation it was determined surgery would be the best next step as the shoulder was not healing properly.
Disappointed , frustrated, and Sad was the first wave of emotions once I realized I would need surgery but that only lasted a day or so because Of my Faith in God. 🙏🏿 knowing that this to shall pass , no matter the great opportunity I had in front of me. It’s not over and that’s…
