MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A carjacking at a Midtown gas station led to a high-speed chase and multiple arrests in East Memphis early Friday.
Myron Neal, 19, Tapanga Gaston, 27, and a 16-year-old male face multiple charges, including carjacking, aggravated robbery, and evading arrest.
The two adults were also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and the teen was charged with possession of marijuana.
Police say Friday morning, just before 3, they responded to a carjacking at the Exxon on Summer Avenue and East Parkway.
That’s where three suspects ambushed a woman walking to her car, pointed a gun at her and demanded her keys. They took off in her red Ford Escape.
But their getaway was short-lived. Officers spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, leading to a pursuit.
The suspects abandoned the car on Windover Road near Poplar and Highland and ran away, but were quickly apprehended.
