In March, the acclaimed British singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran captivated Mumbai with a highly successful concert at the Mahalaxmi Race Course Grounds. This show was a highlight of his 2024 Asia and Europe Tour and represented his third performance in India, after his last visit in 2017. During the event, Sheeran also performed alongside several Indian artists, including Diljit Dosanjh. A video of their joint performance has since gone viral.
Concertgoers were delighted when Diljit Dosanjh made a surprise appearance and joined Ed Sheeran for a performance of his hit track ‘Lover’. In the viral video, Dosanjh sings ‘Lover’ while Sheeran accompanies him on guitar. This unexpected collaboration was a special moment for fans, who were thrilled by the energetic performance and cheered enthusiastically for the duo.
Speaking with Brut India, Ed Sheeran said, “The first time I came over here (India), I went to a small party with a bunch of people. Those were big stars in Bollywood. And I think that kind of opened the door. There’s a lot of Indian music that’s fantastic. I’d say that’s kind of what I’ve been listening to the most for the last, like, a year and a bit.”
