Anne Rice’s ‘Talamasca’ Show at AMC Adds William Fichtner (EXCLUSIVE) – MASHAHER

William Fichtner has been cast in AMC‘s upcoming series about the Talamasca, the secretive group featured in the works of Anne Rice.

Variety has learned exclusively that Fichtner will join the show in the series regular of Jasper. He will star alongside previously announced series lead Nicholas Denton.

“The Talamasca” was first reported to be in development at AMC in 2023, with the basic cabler formally greenlighting the show in June 2024. AMC has ordered six episodes, with the show set to go into production in Manchester, England next month. It is slated to premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2025.

The official logline for the show states that it will “focus on the men and women responsible for tracking and containing the witches, vampires, and other creatures scattered around the globe.”

The character Jasper is described as “a mysterious American who has quietly assumed control and influence over the Talamasca’s London Motherhouse. Though his motives and methods are cloaked in shadow, his charm and righteous sense of purpose are as dangerous as the power he’s pursuing.”

Fichtner has an onscreen career spanning nearly 40 years. He has been in hit films like “Armageddon,” “Crash,” “Heat,” “The Dark Knight,” and “Black Hawk Down,” as well TV series like “Mom,” “Prison Break,” “Entourage,” and “Crossing Lines.”

He is repped by Innovative Artists, Thruline Entertainment, Principal Entertainment LA, and Sloane Offer.

“The Talamasca” is part of the so-called Anne Rice Immortal Universe at AMC, as the network acquired the rights to Rice’s best-selling book series “The Vampire Chronicles” and “The Lives of the Mayfair Witches,” which encompass 18 titles in total, back in 2020. Series versions of “Interview With the Vampire” and “Mayfair Witches” have already premiered.

John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty serve as executive producers and co-showrunners on “The Talamasca,” with Hancock also set to direct. Mark Johnson also executive produces under his overall deal with AMC Studios, through which he oversees all the shows in the Anne Rice Immortal Universe.
