Two measures designed to address crime issues in Kansas City moved forward on Tuesday after a city council committee approved them. One of the measures is an unprecedented pilot program called “Back to Business.” The program offers small business owners who have been victims of vandalism or burglary up to $3,000 to recoup losses and up to $5,000 for added security.
