A Wichita Falls man was arrested after an administrator at Barwise Middle School said the man threatened to kill people at the school.
David Lee Codd was arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat, a third degree felony.
He was released Thursday from the Wichita County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to online jail records.
Anyone charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless convicted in a court of law.
According to an arrest affidavit, a student at Barwise contacted Codd about some trouble the student was having. Codd then called the school and talked to the administrator who had been dealing with the student.
According to allegations in the affidavit, during the course of the conversation Codd said, “I’ll come up there and kill everyone.”
The administrator informed the principal a threat had been made to students and staff. Police were summoned to the scene.
The student who contacted Codd also told authorities Codd was possibly a member of a gang and “had plenty of guns,” according to allegations in the affidavit.
The Times Record News was awaiting comment Thursday morning from the school district on the incident.
