KUALA LUMPUR: Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, the Queen of Malaysia, is set to deliver a special royal address at the upcoming 3rd edition of the World Women Economic & Business Summit (WWEBS) on Sept 26, 2024, at the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur.
Organized by the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, in collaboration with several economic and women’s organisations, the summit will address the theme “Champion women, ignite progress,” focusing on the pivotal role of women in driving societal advancement.
Anticipating around 400 attendees, the event will feature speeches by economic and women’s leadership figures, including Datuk Seri Mohd Iqbal Rawther and Puan Sri Siew Yong Gnanalingam. A special message from Tokyo governor Yuriko Koike will be relayed by KSI’s president, Tan Sri Michael Yeoh.
Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri is set to open the summit with her address “Power and parity: Rewriting the rules for the future,” followed by the presentation of the Special Women Business Excellence Awards.
Highlighting the global perspective, over 40 international speakers will share insights on women’s roles in business and leadership.
The summit, supported by corporate sponsors like PETRONAS, Berjaya Group and Star Media Group, aims to empower female leadership and provide actionable strategies to overcome professional barriers.
Tan Sri Michael Yeoh underlined the summit’s role in global women’s empowerment efforts, heralding it as an influential movement for gender equity and prosperity.
The WWEBS 2024 is poised to inspire and nurture a new wave of female pioneers in economic and business sectors worldwide.
