Rain enters Southern California forecast: Here’s when – MASHAHER

LOS ANGELESIf you’ve been enjoying the cooler weather, get ready for more unseasonably cool weather, along with a chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

The latest forecast shows a low pressure system moving across the region, bringing a chance of showers Thursday and Friday. Don’t expect anything big, though, as totals are estimated at under 0.25 inches for now.

Chances are higher for thunderstorms with isolated heavy rain and flooding Thursday afternoon, the NWS said. Other potential impacts include dangerous lightning, small hail, and wind gusts of up to 45 mph.

According to the latest forecast, the storm and rainfall shift to the east on Friday, with light rain showers continuing and 20% projections of heavy cells that will remain in Los Angeles County. There’s also a low (but present) risk of debris flows over Post and Bridge Fire burn scars.

A Flood Watch is in effect Thursday from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The cooler temperatures and rain chances will possibly linger through Friday.

Once the weekend kicks in, temperatures will warm up between 10 and 20 degrees from Friday to Monday, the NWS said.
