Liev Schreiber to Play Sam Fisher in Netflix’s ‘Splinter Cell’ Anime – MASHAHER

Liev Schreiber is Sam Fisher. Netflix has released a first-look teaser at its anime adaptation of “Splinter Cell,” which confirms that the actor will be voicing Tom Clancy’s iconic stealth specialist in the upcoming series adaptation of Ubisoft’s action video game franchise. A title was also unveiled: “Splinter Cell: Deathwatch.”

“Darkness is a good thing,” Fisher says in narration over the footage, revealed as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week fan event in Atlanta. “Once you get used to the shadows, you see bad people for who they really are. And they’ll never see you coming for them.”

The Fisher seen in the new footage sports a gray beard and seems to be older than the character’s appearance in Ubisoft’s “Splinter Cell” video game series.

Rumors that Schreiber would be voicing Fisher in this project have swirled online over the past few weeks, after actor Michael Ironside, who voiced the character across five video games, suggested that Schreiber would be taking on the role in a June interview with Monsters, Madness and Magic.

Variety first exclusively reported on Netflix and Ubisoft teaming for a “Splinter Cell” anime series back in 2020. The series is co-directed by Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daage. Derek Kolstad, who penned the first three “John Wick” films, serves as head writer and executive producer on the anime. Helene Juguet, Hugo Revon and Gerard Guillemot of Ubisoft Film & Television are also executive producers. “Splinter Cell: Deathwatch” comes from animation studios Sun Creature and Fost.
