GISB probe: Crackdown continues in Melaka, 24 arrested – MASHAHER



MELAKA: Fifteen premises belonging to the Global Ikhwan Sdn Bhd Holdings (GISB) network in the state have been raided by police.

The raids, which started at 7am on Saturday (Sept 21), were conducted across three districts in Melaka and 24 individuals, including 19 children, were detained.

Most arrests were made at a residence belonging to a GISB member at Kuala Sungai Baru, Alor Gajah.

Also detained were two men and three women from a charity home, a restaurant, a curtain shop, a mini market, a bakery and a noodles processing factory in Serkam here.

Most premises raided had been vacated, including two bungalows used as charity homes by the organisation in Krubong in the Melaka Tengah district.

The raid, led by Melaka police, also included Social Welfare Department officers, Melaka Islamic Religious Department, Registrar of Societies and the Companies Commission of Malaysia.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain earlier said that several raids were conducted at business centres belonging to GISB, including its headquarters in Bandar Country Homes in Rawang, Selangor.

Raids early Saturday also took place at various locations nationwide.
