A fiery crash involving a car and a semi-truck on Interstate-465 near Lawrence Sunday morning left the car’s driver dead and closed down multiple lanes, according to Indiana State Police.
Two northbound lanes on I-465, just north of the I-70 interchange on Indianapolis’ east side, remained closed through Sunday morning after a driver rammed into the back of a parked semi, ISP Sgt. Jonathan Caddell told IndyStar. The crash that occurred around 7 a.m. killed the driver and caused a vehicle fire.
The semi driver was uninjured, according to ISP. Investigators remained on the scene as of 10:45 a.m., Caddell said. Two lanes were closed as of 11:30 a.m.
