Michelle Pfeiffer Joins in Apple Series ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ – MASHAHER

Michelle Pfeiffer is set to star in the upcoming Apple TV+ adaptation of the Rufi Thorpe novel “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” Variety has learned.

The eight-episode show was ordered to series at Apple back in February after a multi-platform bidding war. Pfeiffer will appear alongside previously announced cast members Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman.

Per the description of the novel’s plot, it focuses on Margo Millet (Fanning), the daughter of a Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and an ex-pro wrestler. Now an unemployed single mother in her early 20s, Margo is struggling to make ends meet, leading her to launch an OnlyFans account. When her father reenters her life, she starts incorporating his lessons from the pro wrestling world into her OnlyFans work, leading to unexpected success.

This is the latest high-profile TV role Pfeiffer has landed in recent months. It was previously reported in August that she is set to star in the Taylor Sheridan series “The Madison” for Paramount. Pfeiffer is primarily known for her film roles, though she has ventured more into TV in the past few years. She recently starred as Betty Ford in the Showtime series “The First Lady.” She also received an Emmy and Golden Globe nomination for her work in the HBO film “The Wizard of Lies.” In film, she has been nominated for three Academy Awards — one for “Dangerous Liaisons,” one for “The Fabulous Baker Boys,” and another for “Love Field.” She has also starred in features like “Batman Returns,” “Scarface,” and “White Oleander.”

She is repped by CAA, Entertainment360, Hirsch Wallerstein.

“Margo’s Got Money Troubles” was published in June by William Morrow. David E. Kelley is writing, executive producing, and showrunning the adaptation. Fanning, Kidman, and Pfeiffer will all executive produce in addition to starring. Brittany Kahan Ward and Dakota Fanning executive produce via the Fannings’ Lewellen Pictures. Per Saari of Kidman’s Blossom Films executive produces along with Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions. Thorpe is also an executive producer. A24 is the studio.
