Bill Hader to Develop HBO Series With ‘Barry’ Writer Duffy Boudreau – MASHAHER

Bill Hader and Duffy Boudreau are teaming up to develop a comedy pilot script at HBO, Variety has learned exclusively.

The official logline for the untitled project states, “A woman in a small town has a big secret revealed.” Hader and Boudreau will serve as co-writers and executive producers on the project.

This is the latest collaboration between Hader and Boudreau, who became friends when they were teenagers in Tulsa, OK. They previously worked together on the HBO series “Barry,” which Hader starred in and co-created. Boudreau was a writer and eventually a co-executive producer on the series. They have also co-written multiple episodes of “Documentary Now.”

Boudreau’s other credits include the Netflix animated series “Big Mouth” and the Hulu animated series “Hit-Monkey.” He received an Emmy nomination for best writing for a comedy series along with Hader and “Barry” co-creator Alec Berg for the Season 3 episode “710N.” He is repped by UTA and Cowan DeBaets Abrahams & Sheppard.

Hader starred on “Barry” for four seasons, with the show wrapping up its run in 2023. He received 16 total Emmy nominations for his work on the show, including sharing in its four nods for best comedy series. Hader himself won two Emmys for best actor in a comedy for the show in 2018 and 2019.

Hader is also known for his time as a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” as well as for shows like “South Park” and for films like “IT: Chapter Two,” “The Skeleton Twins,” “Inside Out,” and “Trainwreck.”

He is repped by UTA and Felker Toczek.
