See what schools are closed, delayed as Middle Georgia braces for Hurricane Helene – MASHAHER


Gov. Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency on Tuesday in anticipation for the impact of what is now Hurricane Helene, which is still expected to make landfall in Florida late Thursday before moving toward Georgia.

Some Middle Georgia schools are bracing for the severe weather, and two have already announced closures for this week.

Here’s a list of school closure plans across Middle Georgia.

Bibb County

Peach County

  • All Peach County Schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday. All after-school activities are canceled.

Twiggs County

Twiggs Academy: Canceled classes Thursday.

Updates will be made if more school closures and delays are announced.
