A new direct flight will connect DFW to Hong Kong. What to know about prices, flight time – MASHAHER


A new international airline will be landing in Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport next spring.

Cathay Pacific will begin direct flights from DFW to Hong Kong on April 25. The long-haul flight will run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and is scheduled to leave DFW at 11:55 p.m. and arrive in Hong Kong at 5:05 a.m. two days later. The aircraft will be a wide-body Airbus A350-1000 that can carry 350 to 400 passengers.

Covering 8,123 miles, the over 16 hour flight is expected to be Cathay Pacific’s longest direct flight by distance. Fares for the new route start at over $1,900 for a round-trip economy class ticket. Round-trip business class tickets start at around $7,000.

“Our new flight is a further testament to the airline’s mission to connect passengers to our home city of Hong Kong and beyond,” said Chris van den Hooven, Cathay Pacific’s senior vice president for the Americas.

American Airlines, DFW’s primary carrier, has a partnership with Cathay Pacific, so savvy travelers will be able to earn and redeem American’s AAdvantage miles on flights. Cathay Pacific is focused on expanding its offering of flights connecting North America to its home city in 2025.

“Connecting the cultural and commercial opportunities between DFW and Hong Kong with a nonstop flight is crucial for these two globally influential regions,” said DFW CEO Sean Donohue in a statement.

Founded in 1946, Cathay Pacific flies to over 170 destinations across the world.

Dallas-Fort Worth, the world’s third busiest airport, is undergoing a $9 billion construction project over the next six years, including a $3 billion remodel project of Terminal C that means temporary closures of parking garages.
