Triptii Dimri became a national sensation following her performance in the 2023 film Animal. She portrayed Zoya, Ranbir Kapoor’s on-screen girlfriend, who later reveals her true intentions in the second half of the movie. Although her role was supporting, Triptii captured attention and gained recognition after its release. Recently, she described Zoya as ‘brave and innocent’ and shared her reasons for joining Ranbir and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s project, Animal.
Triptii Dimri opens up on choosing challenging roles in Animal; says, “I’m always looking for roles that offer something different”
At the recent India Today Conclave 2024, Triptii Dimri opened up about her decision to join Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Animal. She shared that she dislikes staying in her comfort zone, a realization she came to while working on her films Bulbbul (2020) and Qala (2022).
While she felt energized on those sets, she described Animal as “quite challenging” compared to her earlier projects. Triptii emphasized the importance of choosing films that push her boundaries as an actress.
Triptii said, “Every time I get a role, I feel like it’s both scary and challenging. That’s exactly how I felt when Sandeep sir explained Zoya’s character to me. She seemed both brave and innocent at the same time, and that excited me. I’m always looking for roles that offer something different.”
Tripti Dimri was asked to choose between Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal as her ‘3 AM companion’ during the same interview. Triptii highlighted her Bad Newz co-star Vicky Kaushal, implying that she is quite close with him.
Triptii began her career in 2017 with Poster Boys, starring alongside Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Shreyas Talpade. She later appeared opposite Avinash Tiwary in Imtiaz Ali’s production Laila Majnu, which initially struggled at the box office but was re-released in theaters this year. Her other films include Bulbbul, Qala, and Bad Newz.
On the work front, Triptii is now preparing for director Raaj Shaandilyaa’s Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, where she stars alongside Rajkummar Rao as a married couple from the 90s. The promotional campaign for the film is currently in full swing, with its release scheduled for October 11, 2024, when it will compete at the box office with Alia Bhatt’s Jigra.
She also has a lineup of upcoming films, including Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Dhadak 2, and Aashiqui 3.
