Actor Saif Ali Khan has praised Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi during a recent interview. At the India Today Conclave, Saif named Rahul as one of the country’s ‘brave’ politicians and acknowledged his efforts to improve his public image.

While promoting his new film, Devara Part 1, Saif attended the India Today Conclave on Thursday. When asked about his preferred type of politician, he said, “I like a brave politician, an honest politician.”
The host then cited PM Narendra Modi, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and Rahul Gandhi as examples and asked Saif to select a bold politician among them who could lead India into the future, to which Saif replied, “I think they are all brave politicians. I think what Rahul Gandhi has done has been very impressive. There was a point when people were disrespecting things he was saying and doing. And I think he has turned that around by working very hard in a very interesting way.”

Saif Ali Khan’s praise for Rahul Gandhi has been widely shared on social media, especially among the politician’s supporters. The video is going viral on X (formerly Twitter), with many interpreting it as the actor’s ‘endorsement’ of Rahul. Interestingly, in the Amazon Prime Video series Taandav, Saif portrayed a character that many felt resembled Rahul Gandhi, playing the heir to a Prime Minister.
Saif’s new film Devara Part 1, was released on Friday. This pan-India action film features Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor alongside Saif in leading roles. Directed by Kortala Siva, it has been released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. The film has garnered impressive advance bookings and is projected to have a strong opening day, with expectations of a global haul exceeding ₹100 crores on its first day.
