While Saif Ali Khan has been celebrated for his versatile performances on the silver screen, he is much loved by people for his amazing sense of humor in real life, which they love as much as his craft. Recently, when Saif attended India Today’s conclave, he discussed an array of subjects including his film Devara: Part 1 which releases this Friday. Along with all that, he also addressed the paparazzi culture in India and explained his relationship with them.
Saif Ali Khan opens up about Paparazzi culture in India; explains his bond adding, “They are not very intrusive, they are quite polite”
While discussing an incident with paparazzi, Saif Ali Khan appreciated the shutterbugs for their amazing qualities. He said, “They are not very intrusive. They understand and are quite polite. When you tell them to give you a break, they do that. When they chase a kid who is in a car, it gets a little frightening. It goes part and parcel of what we do. It is not like America or England, where they really do publish an embarrassing photo of you. That is the whole point of the paparazzi, to post an embarrassing photo. But these guys don’t do that. India is very special.”
When he was asked if the paparazzi were actually paid by the celebs, Saif added, “Sometimes celebs invite paparazzi, some of them pay them, but most of us in my family have never paid the paparazzi. They have a rate card where certain people get paid a certain amount, and one of my children is very high up on that card.” It is a known fact that Saif’s first kid with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Taimur is one of the paps’ favourites since he has been clicked a lot by the cameramen ever since his childhood. In fact, both his parents have often confessed that now Taimur has gone to share a close bond with many of these cameramen.
On the film front, Saif Ali Khan will be making his Telugu debut with Devara: Part 1 along with Janhvi Kapoor. Starring Jr NTR in a double role, the magnum opus that will release in two parts, is directed by Kortala Siva. The first part releases on September 27 in multiple languages including Hindi.
