NFL injury tracker Week 4: George Kittle ready to return, Jordan Love active, Justin Herbert likely to play – MASHAHER

Week 4 kicked off Thursday night with the Dallas Cowboys continuing their dominance over the New York Giants with a 20-15 win.

Giants rookie receiver Malik Nabers suffered a concussion during the game After a catch attempt on fourth down late in the game, Nabers stayed down on the sideline for a while as athletic trainers tended to him. Shortly afterward, he was back to the locker room too.

Nabers posted on Instagram early Friday morning with a picture of himself and the caption, “All good. Thanks for the prayers.”

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Friday that Nabers has entered concussion protocol.

In other injury news from Thursday night, Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons was helped off the field late in the fourth quarter. He went to the medical tent, then came out with his left shoe and sock off, got onto a cart and was taken to the locker room.

Cowboys executive vice president and director of player personnel Stephen Jones said on Friday that Parsons is considered “week to week.”

For defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, however, Jones said he is “probably a little bit longer.”

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was limited in practice, but according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he will be active for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Love said this week he was “close” to playing Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans, but he did not end up playing. The team had been encouraged by his progress and he is expected to return after missing two weeks with an MCL injury.

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is reportedly expected to start against the Chiefs, barring a pregame setback, according to NFL media. He’s officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Herbert was active ahead of Week 3 despite a high ankle sprain, but left the loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers early, and was seen after the game wearing a walking boot. Herbert has been limited in practice throughout this week.

The San Francisco 49ers had a positive sign on Thursday. George Kittle, Brock Purdy, Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams all took part in practice. For Kittle, it was the second straight day he was on the field after missing their Week 3 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

As of Friday, Kittle appears ready to return against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

“I’m very excited to play football,” Kittle said. “I think there have been some circumstances that have happened this year, so we’re just trying to cover our bases and be as honest as possible. But no, I am feeling fantastic.”

Another possible return for the 49ers this week is Samuel, who missed last week due to a calf injury. He is currently listed as questionable.

“The best athletes seem to heal at a little better rate,” Lynch said. “The reason he’s on the field is because he hit all the markers.”

The Detroit Lions get an extra day to heal up as they play Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks. But despite more rest, they will be without Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow, who suffered a partially torn pectoral muscle in Week 3.

There was a chance Ragnow would be available to play against the Seahawks, but head coach Dan Campbell said they did not want to risk any further damage.

“We’re not going to mess with that,” Campbell said. “Look, Frank’s tough. He’s as tough as nails. If anybody can play through it, it’s him. I think we’ve got to be smart. It’s early in the year. We’ve got a lot of football left.”

The Philadelphia Eagles will be without their top two wideouts on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown have both been ruled out.

A hamstring injury has kept Brown out the last two weeks and Smith suffered a concussion during their Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints.
