Ryan Murphy’s “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” was unsurprisingly the No. 1 title on Netflix during the Sept. 23-29 viewing window. The true crime project hit 19.5 million views its first full week of availability, up from the 12.3 million views it achieved in four days on last week’s chart.
At No. 2 was the rom-com series “Nobody Wants This.” Led by Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, the series hit 10.3 million views in its first four days of streaming. It was followed by “The Perfect Couple’s” fourth week on the chart, hitting 6 million views compared to 10.4 million the week before it.
“Mr. McMahon,” the limited series about former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, debuted at No. 4 with 4.9 million views in its first five days on Netflix, with “Emily in Paris” Season 4 taking fifth place with 4.2 million views in its seventh week on the chart and the second full week of availability of the last five episodes.
Season 1 of “The Resident” took sixth place with 3.3 million views, rising in popularity again after an initial resurgence earlier this year due to the Fox series’ addition to Netflix. Similarly, “Prison Break” continues to chart after its recent acquisition. Season 1 had its fourth week on the chart, landing at No. 7 with 2.8 million views, while Season 2 charted for a third week, landing at No. 8 with 2.4 million. After Ellen Degeneres’ stand-up special “For Your Approval,” which debuted at No. 9 with 2.4 million views in its first six days of availability, Season 3 of “Prison Break” took the last spot on the chart with 2.1 million views.
