The Bollywood Hungama OTT Fest took place on October 3, 2024, bringing together industry luminaries to explore the dynamic landscape of India’s OTT platforms. The two-day event featured a series of engaging panels where celebrities shared their insights on the evolving digital entertainment space. A highlight came from acclaimed filmmaker Sidharth Anand, who spoke about actors delivering blockbuster performances even when they weren’t at the peak of their careers.
Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest 2024: Siddharth Anand says actors don’t need to be in their prime to deliver blockbuster films; cites the success of Animal and Stree: “No one person can take credit for it.”
Anand’s observations shed light on the unpredictable nature of success in the industry and how talent can transcend the pressures of maintaining stardom.
Siddharth Anand said, “I think there’s a lot of factors that come into play. There is no maker who can say that ‘I’ve got the formula.’ A lot of things come into play; a lot to do with timing and team effort. Actors don’t necessarily need to be at their prime. I think we’ve seen a lot of films lately where the actors were not at their prime when they gave these biggest Rs 500 crores films; Ranbir (Kapoor) for Animal or Stree. So you don’t have to be at your prime. It has to be that film that clicks, and no one person can take credit for it. I am the last person can take credit, full credit, for a film being a blockbuster. It’s a lot of things that come into play, but obviously the director steers it sure even the level of very nuts and bolts.”
