The teachers’ union is demanding that the maximum size of classes allowed in WA public schools should be slashed by five students to improve kids’ learning and help keep teachers in schools.
In an advertising campaign being launched on Monday, the State School Teachers Union of WA is pushing for a long-term plan to reduce class sizes in Years 4 to 10 from their current upper limit of 32 pupils — among the highest in the nation — down to 27.
