A 77-year-old Topeka woman died and two other people were seriously hurt Saturday in a two-vehicle crash on US-75 highway three miles south of Holton, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.
Dianna Faye Slavens was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, which occurred at 5:08 p.m. Saturday, according to a KHP highway accident report.
It said Jamie Lynn Wells, 38, of Topeka, and Alva E. Goff Jr., 89, of Topeka, suffered potentially serious injuries and were taken to Holton Community Hospital.
Wells was driving a 2019 Toyota Rav4 northbound on US-75,, with Goff as her passenger, when it struck a 2007 Honda CR-V driven by Slavens, who had failed to yield the right-of-way to Well while entering US-75 from a private drive, the accident report said.
Slavens’ vehicle was “struck broadside,” it said.
Slavens, Wells and Goff were all wearing seat belts, the accident report said.
The KHP was investigating circumstances of the crash.
