In a delightful crossover of projects, Janhvi Kapoor recently shared a video featuring her Mr & Mrs Mahi co-star, Rajkummar Rao, hilariously imitating Aditi Rao Hydari’s viral ‘Gajagamini walk’ from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Netflix show, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The ‘Gajagamini walk’ has become a sensation on social media, with fans and celebrities alike recreating the iconic stance. Even Aditi Rao Hydari joined the trend during her Cannes Film Festival appearance.

On Wednesday, Janhvi Kapoor took to Instagram to share the amusing moment. In the video, Janhvi is seen with her cricket pads on, ready to bat, while Rajkummar, who is bowling, mimics her walk with the pads. As he walks back to the crease, his awkward, yet endearing imitation of the ‘Gajagamini walk’ is evident. Janhvi captioned the video, “Our very own gajagamini walk took a minute to get used to all those cricket pads but glad I could amuse u Mr. Mahi (slurrp emoji).”
The video quickly garnered attention, with the official Instagram handle of Dharma Productions commenting, “That’s the way #TheMahiWay! (laughing with tears emojis).” Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani aka Orry, a close friend of Janhvi, also chimed in, writing, “@rajkummar_rao >>>.” Rajkummar’s Badhaai Do co-star Gulshan Devaiah humorously added, “Get him to wear leg guards and walk … let’s see kya chaal chalta hai woh (how he walks).”
Mr & Mrs Mahi, directed by Sharan Sharma, marks the second collaboration between Janhvi Kapoor and the director, following their work on Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. It also reunites Janhvi with Rajkummar Rao after their previous film, Roohi. The film, backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is set to hit theatres on May 31. In addition to this project, Janhvi has a busy slate ahead with films like Ulajh, Devara: Part 1, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, and Suriya’s next. Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao will be seen in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and Stree 2.
