Adelaide desperately looks to stay in touch with the top eight as it battles a revived West Coast to conclude Round 11.

The Crows (3-6-1, 100.9%) copped their first loss in a month last time out, falling agonisingly short against Collingwood at the MCG, and now return home.

The Eagles (3-7, 77.1%) produced a stunning upset over Melbourne last week but all three of their 2024 victories have come at home.

ROLLING MATCH UPDATES

There were no late changes ahead of Sunday afternoon’s bout, with Sam Berry (Adelaide) and Tyrell Dewar (West Coast) named the starting substitutes.

The Crows snagged the game’s opening pair of goals through Lachie Sholl and a long-range Jordan Dawson strike.

“They need a response, the Eagles, or this game will get away from them way too quickly,” Swans legend Gerard Healy said.

“The Eagles are on the ropes early,” Fox Footy caller Dwayne Russell added after Taylor Walker slammed home Adelaide’s fourth goal of the first quarter to open up a 25-point lead.

Kuwarna’s Lachlan Murphy and Waalitj Marawar’s Alex Witherden collided heavily in the first quarter. Both players appear to be OK.

Chayce Jones and Brayden Cook then got in on the act, extending Kuwarna’s lead to 43 points — and there are still six playing minutes left in the first term.

“I’m a bit gobsmacked, to be honest,” Crows great Mark Ricciuto said.

Kuwarna took a 44-point lead into the quarter-time break.

Early in the second term, Jack Williams finally booted the Eagles’ first goal of the game! 37 points the difference.

Tex Walker narrowly missed what would’ve been a goal of the year contender, before Jamie Cripps slotted West Coast’s second.

Kuwarna goals to Jake Soligo and Ben Keays pushed their advantage back out to 43 points past the halfway point of the second stanza. A Josh Rachele set shot made it a game-high 49-point difference.

The Crows, who already boast 11 individual goalkickers this afternoon, took a 61-point lead into the main change. Jordan Dawson leads all ball-getters with 17 disposals.

Kuwarna continued to heap pain onto the Eagles, booting the first four of the second half.

Young gun Harley Reid then bobbed up with a superb goal from stoppage to give Eagles fans something to smile about.

A second goal to Taylor Walker on the siren gave the Crows a 18.9 (117) to 4.7 (31) lead at the final change.
