After an initial three-hour public hearing to appeal the Pocono Township zoning officer’s denial of a Transient Dwelling Unit license renewal for Pocono Summit Holdings LLC on April 23, a continuation was scheduled for May 15 and has since been canceled.

According to interim Pocono Township Manager Patrick Briegel, the appeal for the renewal at 205 Lake Road, within the Pocono Manor community, was withdrawn prior to the second meeting date.

The short-term rental property was a topic of much concern and complaints by neighbors during the first hearing, where they described multiple calls to the police and township about excessive noise, unruly behavior and gunfire. Residents were concerned for their safety and welfare.

The property owner continued operating the short-term rental property after the TDU license expired on Oct. 31, 2023, and continued to receive complaints and violation notices from Pocono Township. The gunfire incident, in which no one was shot, occurred on Feb. 4.

The property is now listed for sale through Coldwell Banker Town and Country Properties. It is listed as a 3,300-square-foot single-family home with four bedrooms/four bathrooms and a list price of $650,000. The property was listed around May 10.

The property was last purchased on Dec. 29, 2022, for $575,000.
